Here are PC gamers can go even lower, such as with these offers:

  • Wolfenstein II – £19.99 (Steam GMG)
  • The Evil Within 2 – £19.99 (SteamGMG)
  • Hellblade – £18.78 (GOGSteam)

  • Dark Souls 3 – £15.99 (Steam)
  • Nier: Automata – £23.99 (Steam)
  • Just Cause 3 + DLC – £7.50 (Steam)

Of course, even at the best of times, you’ll want to be comparing prices with the game on disc from retailers like AmazonGameShopTo, TheGameCollection, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Argos and on and on.

Just as an example, there’s the Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider bundle on PlayStation and Xbox for £25, but you can get either of these single player games for £10 each if you shop around at GameAmazonArgos and elsewhere. Here’s a few more examples:

There’s reports of game prices dropping in store at Tesco, including Forza 7 for £28, Call of Duty WWII for £36 and Assassin’s Creed Origins for £32, Wolfenstein II for £21, GT Sport for £20, and plenty more.

Consoles

Don’t expect to find any really amazing offers for the Nintendo Switch or Xbox One X – they’re either simply too popular or too new – but you might find some compelling retailer driven bundles that add games for cut prices. A Nintendo Switch with Lego Worlds and Rayman Legends or with Mario + Rabbidsis £299.99 at Game, but that’s hardly a revelation.

Sony have set out their stall well in advance, dropping the price of PlayStation VR and two game bundles from £349.99 to £249.99 and PlayStation 4 Pro and two game bundles from £349.99 to £299.99. However, you can go just that little bit better with an extra game or fewer games and just a lower price.

  • PS4 Pro with GT Sport, Call of Duty WWII & Fallout 4 – £299.99 (Currys PC World)
  • PS4 Pro with GT Sport – £282.95 (John Lewis)

For PlayStation 4 Slim and Xbox One S bundles, most of the discounts are yet to go live, but there’s a few live now or in the near future that are dropping below £200.
